Environments to form Relationships and strengthen Faith
One of the most telling signs of a faithful Christian is a deep relationship with God’s Word. The mission of the adult education program is to assist our members in knowing the Lord and deepening their relationship with Him through expository and topical studies of the Bible. Our discussion-based classes align with Summerville CoC’s overall vision for the church: Relationships Formed, Faith Strengthened.
Current Adult Classes
August 31st to October 29th
SUNDAYS - 9:00 AM
Adult Class (Family Room): Evangelism
Zach Dailey and Guest Speakers
This class will introduce Summerville’s focus on evangelism as outlined in the 2025 strategic plan. It provides a broad overview of how evangelism can take shape in various aspects of our daily lives. By bringing in different speakers and perspectives, the class aims to help participants explore fresh and unexpected ways opportunities evangelism might be present in their own lives, beyond the traditional or commonly understood definitions.
Young Adult (Upstairs Gym): Ecclesiastes
Allen & Stephanie Cooke
A study by Jonathan "JP" Pokluda takes us through the book of Ecclesiastes and shows us that we are not alone in our search for meaning. Discover how God himself, not the things of this world, satisfies our deepest desires for meaning.
Ladies Class (Downstairs Gym): Missing Pieces: Real Hope When Life Doesn’t Make Sense by Jennifer Rothschild
Brenda Williams
Have you ever asked these questions? Does God care? Is He fair? Is He even there? Your questions can be the missing pieces that help you really know God.
Adult Class 2 (Annex): Art of Parenting
Bill and Donna Branham
FamilyLife’s Art of Parenting Bible study gives clear vision and creative methods to work toward beauty with a child’s unique composition. Helps parents make faith the core of their parenting with intentional, biblical teaching and Christ-centered plans. WEDNESDAYS - 7:00 PM
Family Room: Acts: The Church's Origin Story
Len Driskell & Don Alan Riggs
We are continuing our study of the real-life saga of the early church as it was pushed out of Jerusalem towards the ends of the world. The struggles they endured and the obstacles they overcame still inspire us as the 21st-century church. We will join Peter, Paul, Barnabas, and other pioneers of the faith as they travel the Mediterranean world.
Ladies Class (Annex): Women of the Bible
Katy Penick & Latonia Pearson
Reflections on Women of the Bible by Heather Pryor. This study focuses on the lives and character of several fascinating women in scripture and includes sections on cultural background, a connection to Christ, discussion questions, a personal application page, and more. As we reflect on the examples in this study, we also need to take a close look at ourselves and how we can become the women God created each of us to be.
